Once upon a time, a boy named Jack went to the marina to get fresh fish for dinner. Along the way he spent the money his mother had given him on a beer instead. Scared of his mother's wrath, he planted the beer mug on the tip of LBI. Next day, a lighthouse grew. Go figure.

Jumping ship on dry land? Not the best idea. Better to weather the frigid winter and wait till summer when you can jump overboard into the warm waters around Long Beach Island.

Hard to tell if this old beauty is still seaworthy. I really would like to think she'll race again, but I think the only race she'd win is the race to the bottom of the bay.
