Have I mentioned there is nothing like a Harvey Cedars sunset? I may be a little partial to Harvey Cedars since that's where I grew up, but LBI as a whole is a pretty spectacular place.

I remember as a boy growing up on LBI throngs of people running to the ocean, fishing poles in hand. The fish were running. A blitz. Well, this guy is parked at the ocean, and seems to be ready should the fish start biting.

Sometimes SPF 50 just isn't enough. Need a little shade on top of the sunblock to ensure you will be semi-translucent at all times. I'm sure your dermatologist would approve.

What a great place to learn the history of LBI. Although I usually get my Long Beach Island history by listening to stories from my 95 year old grandmother who's been coming down the island since the dawn of time.

A plethora, cornucopia, menagerie, bounty, or just a plain old bunch of shells down in Holgate. Not sure if they were left here by gulls or if the wildlife preserve isn't doing a very good job of preserving.

Sometimes you're so busy looking at a beautiful sunset, you forget to see how that light effects the things it shines on. Thought the colors on this rocks along the fishing pier in Barnegat were really stunning.

Like I said in my blog, the lighting was awful on this outing to LBI. This is the only photo that had any color whatsoever in it. Of course the next day was sunny, but I wasn't on the island then.

Boy was it cold when I shot this. Amazing the camera stood still in my shaking hands. This is a shot of beach entrance to the beach on 76th Street in Harvey Cedars. The wind did a number on the path.
